Agustinos Pinot Noir Reserva Privada Biobio Valley 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

The Agustinos Bio Bio vineyards are located 500 km south of Santiago and are situated at an altitude of 75 metres above sea level. The climate is a sub humid Mediterranean with the sea influence from the Pacific Ocean and the vines are grown in medium to poor soils, with stones and sandy areas and are on gentle slopes close to Bio-Bio River. Agustinos was born in order to promote a new concept in wines, highlighting the importance of nature and its legacy. They control the producion process from the very start by managing the vineyards throughout the year and harvesting the fruit at its optimum point of maturity. Through use solar energy, biomass and water waste treatment in the winery they have created wines that are top quality and in line with nature. This Reserve Pinot Noir has a really interesting, vivaciously burgundian build. It's in no way heavy or too sweet but dances lightly on the palate, with some intriguing coffee bean notes and a lovely acidity and velvety texture and very enveloping tannins.
