Light brick red in color, the nose is dark cherries with a hint of band-aid. Flavor is cherries (both dark and red), red currants, and a bit of strawberry. The finish is interesting. It seems to die off quickly, but comes back for an extended play. Early on in the aftertaste, there are overtones of mint, but as the aftertaste lingers, it strangely enough becomes reminiscent of salami. Obviously, this is a perfect wine for pizza!
