Very big Pinot from Paso Robles. Lots of dark fruit, ripe tannins and a very long finish. Not the light strawberry, bing cherry style, more prune, dark plum and black cherry, with lots of spice.

Big Pinot from Paso Robles. Fantastic nose, lots of dark fruit, medium tannins, great balance.
Full bodied Cal style Pinot Noir. I'm not sure if you need to make California terroir function like Burgundy, so Adelaida doesn't bother. They use the calcareous soils to generate a rich and vibrant pinot noir. Nicely textured fruit, lively acidic and finishes with a richness to help generate discussion, pleasure, and contentment. Continue digression here!
Adelaida is on the Westside of HWY 101 and well worth the trip. The vineyards are rolling at various elevations through a rocky and calcerous soil on some very steep hillsides. The topography alone makes the wines interesting and the Pinot Noir is an amazingly rich, full bodied style that nearly disrupts the varietal character. But what do I know?...Maybe this is the beginning of a new concept of Pinot unique to this terroir and I loved every sip. Plus the price point is exceptional and the people working there seem to amplify the harmony that is Adelaida Wine ;)
