Adega Cooperativa de Valpaços Crl Ponte Do Arquinho Tinto 2006

Member Review by mcawrx:

I really liked this wine - so I found the following on the web to describe it. Not sure of the vintage (what does tinto colheita 2006 mean?) "Ponte do Arquinho is made by the winemaker Paulo Aguiar who belongs to the new, young generation of winemakers from the wine co-operative AC Valpaços, high up in the in the region Trás-os-Montes in the north-east of Portugal. Ponte do Arquinho is made from an equal amount of he local grapes Trincadeira and Tinta Carvalha. The aroma, as well as the taste, is spicy and fruity with a strain of green pepper, berries and oak. The wine should be served at 16-18° C. Enjoy the wine with light meat, lamb or beef, paella, all kinds of mushroom dishes and for example the classic French Onion soup."

A nice light, citrusy, effervescent vinho branco from Portugal. Easy, drinkable...especially on a hot day! Great value too. Only 7 bucks. I prefer Casal Garcia...but this is almost as good! For this price point...it's good!
