Blends are a great way (usually) to be introduced to the sometimes daunting world of wine, before exploring the more sophisticated characteristics of each varietal, and since I've had my eye on this one for awhile, let's take it for a spin. Pouring a deep ruby tinging towards pink at the edges, there are strong notes of plum and cherry on the nose, hinting at a very sweet experience. On the tongue, however, the sweetness is actually subdued, the dryer Pinot Noir helping to balance the heavier, more voluptuous Syrah (there are other grapes involved, but my research couldn't turn up any more details, a common trait in "mass market" blends). A comfortable heat from the higher alcohol content contributes to a clean, almost dry finish, making this a perfect treat for cooler seasons, and a perfect companion for a quiet evening by the fireplace. You can find it most everywhere, so I recommend having a bottle or two on hand for when you're in the mood for a glass of contemplation or conversation when friends are over. Salute!

Acronym oddly enough is a full word and this is a full wine. Refreshing cherry, vanilla, coffee, caramel, mild tannins and full rich berry taste over all areas of the mouth. I liked it very much to purchase again.
