Acrobat Pinot Gris 2013
"Acrobat is wine born to introduce even more people to the style and grace of Pinot Gris. Grown responsibly in the gorgeous hills and valleys of Oregon, this wine works wonderfully with food of all kinds and is equally crisp and refreshing on its own. On the color, this is pale straw with golden highlights. Showing aromas and flavors of grapefruit, honey suckle, lime zest, fresh pear, golden delicious apple, floral, spice. The finish is viscous, crisp, with a hint of sweetness and good length." -Winery
King Estate is Oregon's leading winery. Home to the largest contiguous certified Organic vineyard in the world, King Estate is known world wide for producing Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris (aka Pinot Grigio)
Editorial Reviews for Acrobat Pinot Gris
Very fruity and perfumed on the nose with a distinct floral character. Subtly sweet on entry, balanced by assertive acidity and a nice touch of trapped CO2, which adds a touch of nervous energy on the palate. The fruit here is quite fresh with a hint of greengage plum adding roundness to the core of citrus and slightly grapey flavors. The finish is lean and tart, attractive in a lemonade kind of way, but it ends somewhat abruptly. 86pts
This smells a little leesy and creamy at first with sweet pear fruits that feature hints of tangerine, melon and white flowers. On entry this is soft with kiwi fruit right up front followed by gently creamy tangerine and a slight honeycomb note on the mid-palate. It's a medium bodied white with a lovely soft texture that makes it easy to drink, yet there's a fine acid spine that makes this equally easy to pair with food. The finish is more orchard fruit toned with notes of pear and apricot as well as a nice steely tone on the zesty finale. This would pair perfectly with Chicken of Pork dishes that feature a bit of fruit, particularly orchard fruits like apricot. 89pts

Scents of passion fruit and lemon give way to focused citrus fruit flavors. The mineral texture leans into the citrus notes and then edges away, for a pleasingly elusive finish.
Ripe fruit takes center stage in this tasty Pinot Gris loaded with fresh apple, pear and peach flavor. It’s full bodied, round in the mouth, ready to drink and flavorful through the mouthfilling finish.
This classic gris leads with juicy green apple and orange zest flavors, accelerated by a full-bore complement of acidity. It’s frisky and would pair nicely with hamachi crudo.
