Food Pairings for Achával-Ferrer Red Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Merlot Malbec
Smooth but powerful, this wine doesn't taste too hot, but you can tell that it is.
My buddy told me about this wine so I looked at the reviews, and bought a bottle to have with a steak dinner last night. This morning I went to reread all the external reviews, and I wonder how they got there. There is nothing special in this bottle. It is okay, but I don't think it is anything like the reviews. Maybe they are just living on their reputation because all these reviews are old. For the $133 a bottle that I spent, there is a lot more out there that is better than this. I won't be buying this wine again.
91 points Wine Spectator: A minerally spine drives this, with the core of damson plum, raspberry ganache and blackberry fruit staying sweet but racy and defined. Violet and graphite hints add length on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now. (10/15/10)
