Acacia Pinot Noir Beckstoffer United States 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Beckstoffers F block is an elongated rectangular vineyard perched along thenorth side of a hill just south of Las Amigas Road. As viewed fromAcacias estate vineyard across the country road, this block appears conspicuouslybarren as compared to the surrounding Merlot vines. Planted in1964, the sparse 8-foot by 12-foot spacing is a window into the viticulturalpast of Carneros, as are the head training and the choice of clone(Martini) and rootstock (St. George). Together these choices, which mightnever be replicated in todays new Carneros, create a unique circumstancethat makes this one of the most individual vineyards in California.
