Acacia Chardonnay Carneros 2008
Wine Tasting Notes This wine offers aromas of apple, mango, fig and guava. The medium to full-bodied palate maintains impressive balance and flavor concentration, so it will hold its own with rich foods. The flavors of tropical and ripe stone fruits complement its acidity, and the finish is rich and long. You will love this bright and crisp Chardonnay that is perfect for summer afternoons spent with friends out on the patio. Enjoy it with seafood salads, tarragon chicken and coconut shrimp.

Rating: 84/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. While Acacia still makes some wines of intent and purpose, this very dull, slightly bitter-edged effort is not among them, and its distant, vaguely varietal, background fruit searches for both focus and vitality alike.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

Rating: 87/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. This fairly big, well-extracted offering is pushed along by undisguised ripeness, yet even if fat and a little hot at the margins, it exhibits a good dose of appley fruit and is filled out with plenty of very obvious oak spice. It finishes a bit on the coarse and alcoholic side to be sure, but a bit of age and service with rich, boldly flavored foods will show its best face and help hide its lack of manners.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.

Winemaker's Notes: Elegant and expressive, our 2008 Chardonnay Carneros opens with vibrant aromas of white peach, citrus, white flowers, honeycomb and crme brle. Complex stone fruit, baked apple and pear flavors expand across the palate, culminating in a lingering, creamy finish. Barrel fermentation and aging add weight and notes of toasted hazelnut to the palate. Our Chardonnay's luscious texture and bright, balanced acidity make it an ideal wine to pair with seafood, chicken and rich or creamy first courses and entrees.
Cool Pacific Ocean winds gave our 2008 Chardonnay rich, lively tropical fruit, apple, pear, citrus, floral and mineral notes. This wine's beautifully balanced flavors first dance with bright acidity on the palate, and then turn rich and creamy on the finish. Pair this elegant Chardonnay with whatever tingles your palate; seared scallops with Meyer lemon, grilled chicken breasts and smoked salmon with angel hair pasta are a few possibilities. Or just enjoy a glass to unwind at the end of the day. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
