Vino de pago 100% Syrah. The pago stands at about 750 altitude in sandy soil. Inky purple, almost black from the younger vines of the property. The malolactic fermentation in new french oak barrels and the 24 months it spent there gives it an absurdly smooth, creamy texture. Toffee, caramel, late, dark fruit, spices, dark pepper, toasted notes. Great body, excelent tannins, very fine. An unbelievable persistent finish. This wine is a blockbuster. Outstanding caracter, the best of the night. [95]

Dark red in color. The nose on this wine keeps drawing me back with it's mix of raspberries, bacon fat, pepper, oak, vanilla, and anise aromas. Creamy soft in the mouth with an elegant balance of tannins and acid. Flavors of pure raspberries, minerals, black raspberries, pepper, cinnamon and violets all mingle on the palate. The nose is pure vanilla, raspberry with light minerals and with time smokey bacon fat. In the mouth the acidity is great with subdued tannins. Flavors of oak, vanilla, and black pepper give way with time to sweet cherry/raspberry, smoke and towards the finish coffee and chocolate flavors. Long finish and a wine that needs some air to fully realize it's potential. 4.5/5 [NR]
