Abadia Retuerta Red Blend Vino de la Tierra Castilla Y León Pago Valdebellon 1996

Winemaker's Notes:

This symbiosis of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from limestone soil located at an altitude of 750 m makes for an exceptional, generous and original Cuvée. Its texture is smooth and meaty, fills the palate and offers a long and potent aromatic finish. It is aged for eighteen months to strengthen its character. The contrast between its heat and sweetness represents the perfect expression of one of the best microclimates to be found in the most prestigious winemaking region in Spain.

Over 204 hectares of vineyards are spread out on hillsides ranging in altitude from a maximum 850 metres down to the southern bank of the Duero River. We have a wide variety of soils, with representations of most of the world’s best varieties, and state-of-the-art technology (meteorological stations, anti-frost towers, etc.) The rest of the estate is comprised of the winery, 12th century abbey, a farm, forest and bush. dark in color, but not a lot going on. somewhat flat with limited fruit. A bit better with food. Going through a dumb phase? or maybe just dead
