Looks like I overpaid for this (over $20), but I am still happy with the wine. Very pale pour. A fresh, tangy white. It begins with some surprising sweetness , followed by tartness, and then settling to a gravelly warmth. This has a touch of Oregon pine in it. A multifaceted wine whose character changes with food and temperature.
Typically, I am a red drinker, but in the warmest days of summer, I will turn to a white. I enjoyed this wine tremendously. As the previous reviewer stated, the initial blast was a bit sweet, which I didn't care for. Before I could turn my nose up I was greeted with a tart citrus (grapefruit?) and a lovely mineral note. I also typically hate screw top bottles, yet for this wine, to be stored in the refrigerator - the screw top was a plus. I drank the 2009 and paid about $11. Wonderful. I will re-buy!

External Reviews for A To Z Pinot Gris Oregon
Smooth, polished and appealing for its pear and nectarine aromas and flavors, remaining delicately balanced and refreshing through the open-textured finish. Drink now through 2009.
Bright and lively, with juicy nectarine and subtle spice flavors. Lingers gently on the dry finish. Drink now.
Displaying fresh melon, apricots, and yellow plums, the light to medium-bodied 2004 Pinot Gris is a vivacious, flavorful wine filled with citrus fruits and almonds. This wonderful value should be drunk over the next 12 months.
This excellent Pinot Gris offers a rich mix of ripe citrus and tropical fruits, acacia flowers, honeysuckle and a hint of buttered toffee. It's rich and full-bodied without being tiring or flabby, with excellent length and structure. Almost 24,000 cases were produced.
A to Z Wineworks is a partnership of two winemaking families who actually did grow up in the wine industry, unlike the corporate types who abandoned their careers after watching the movie "Office Space" and tried to become winemakers. The erratic Oregon weather of the 2004 vintage proves that these original winemaking families hold the key to Pinot Gris. The presence of juicy green apple here is undeniable, and it is accented by a touch of honey to define the slight creaminess of the wine. Lively acidity and stimulating freshness make this wine a wise choice over any Pinot Grigio.
A to Z's 2008 Pinot Gris offers plenty of fragrant pit fruit and melon aromas followed by a vibrant, flavorful, just off-dry wine that will match well with Northwest seafood.
This is refreshing for its nectarine and spice flavors, lingering gently on the open-textured finish. Drink now.
Pale yellow gold, the 2008 A to Z Pinot Gris has aromas of ripe citrus fruits, kiwi, lychee, wet stones, minerals, honeysuckle and nectarines. The wine opens with aromatics of spices, nutmeg, lime blossom and tangerine. The concentrated attack is pure and bright with wonderful lush fruit and mineral notes, and it is framed by ripe acidity giving classic Oregon Pinot Gris proportions and lift to the richness. The finish rolls seamlessly off the mid-palate and goes on and on. The lasting impression of the wine is of great purity and intensity balanced by wonderful juiciness and succulence.
