A. Rafanelli Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Creek Valley 2006
I was very concerned when I opened this and the cork split halfway - usually a very bad sign. Poured through the vinturi with the strainer and let breathe for a short period. Well, dodged the bullet, this is phenomenal cab with lots of layers, plenty of dark red fruit, black cherry, ripe plum, very nice acidity and fine grained tannins. Very happy that we cracked this open when we did.
Excellent paired with lamb.
Still learning about wines, but I recently enjoyed a bottle at Union Square Café and it was absolutely amazing.
