A blend of 50% Fiano and 50% Greco. The Fiano grape gives the wine a very aromatic character, whereas the Greco grape is responsible for the wine’s body and structure. A balanced, complex, concentrated wine with depth, elegance and finesse will please even the most discriminating Zinfandel lover. its brilliant straw yellow color is the harbinger of crystal-clear aromas and marvelous elegance. Lively mineral notes on the nose prelude fresh, floral nuances gradually followed by fuller, riper scents of white fruit notably pear and muskmelon closing with delicate citrus and grapefruit. The complex, fascinating bouquet is confirmed on the palate fresh, fruity and silky-textured, with an extremely persistent, mineral finish. A delightfully crisp, aromatic wine that is splendid on its own as an aperitivo, or with delicate pasta dishes, fish, shellfish. Note: Bottles are provided with Stelvin® screw cap closure.
Winemaker's Notes:
Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind A Mano, have worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine-marketing expert and Mark is Californian winemaker. They fell in love with Puglia, and when they decided to start their own label, made it their home. The A Mano Fiano and Greco vineyards are situated in Valle d’Itria, in the heart of Puglia. The valley provides a constant airflow from the Adriatic sea to the warmer interior regions of Puglia. The cool breezes enhance the high aromatic profiles in the grapes grown here. The soils are well draining over a soft rock base. The 2009 Bianco is a blend of 50% Fiano and 50% Greco di Tufo. Fiano contributes the lovely white peach, apricot and rose notes, while Greco gives the wine its full body. Very aromatic with floral notes on the nose, it has exotic fruit flavours on the palate, crisp acidity and a refreshing finish.
