A Mano Primitivo Salento IGT Prima Mano 2006
Wine Tasting Notes This wine is a powerhouse! The intensity of raspberry, plum and briary flavors is immense. The deep dark color and abundant yet soft tannins give the wine great complexity and intrigue. We have aged all our previous vintages in the cellar and are continually astonished at how well they live.
I had this wine at Carrabbas's at a dinner for Carrabbas's Amici club member's. I really liked it. I'm not that good at wine discriptions, but I can't argue with the previous and only review of this wine on snooth by Decanter. I might have been influenced by the fact that the wine was free and the waitresses were around a lot to refill our glasses. Also I checked Carrabbas's menu and their price for the wine is #13 a glass which is more than I would normally spend. I recommend the club. I haven't had a chance to try Prima Mano since then, but I intend to. I did find another Primitivo wine - A Mano at Empire Wine in Northway Mall in Colonie NY for less than $7 a bottle. I would say it's almost as good as the Prima Mano.
