Four of the thirteen permitted varieties of Chateauneauf de Pape comprise this focused purple, peppery prize. The fruit is ripe and finishes with distinct notes of dried plums.Tracey and Jared Brandt, the couple behind Donkey and Goat, are authentic CA-style Garagistes, working from a ramshackle winery near Berkeley. They use only used French oak barrels. Serve with the barest chill for optimum enjoyment.

Gamey notes dance with crushed free berries, herbs, cola, leather and floral hints. The palate shows off the wine's stuffing with chewy tannins, respectable acidity and lingering flavors of cranberry and casiss.
