58242 Echeverria Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Viña Echeverria is a long established Chilean estate winery fully owned and managed by the Echeverria family. The vineyards and winery are located in the outskirts of the town of Molina, Cuico Valley, the wine heartland of Chile. They produce fine wines with a commitment to quality and excellence. This Sauvignon Blanc is bright, lively and fresh with a long and lasting flavour with hints of ripe green melons and grass.
One of the best sauvignon blanc values on the market. This and the fournier sauvignon blanc are the best under $10.
I first tried this in-store, out of a little plastic cup, on a Friday night after a long week of grueling officework. I was not expecting to like a sauvignon blanc anything. I wanted red. Then this aroma -- a vegetable aroma, but very crisp, fresh, hit my nose. I tasted. At first, "pear" appeared ... but no. It's green pepper picked fresh from the garden, still sweet with no pepper bite. Excellent. I asked the price ($9.99) and took two bottles home. It's a warm spring day, the sun is setting through the newly unfurled leaves, and the wine is perfect. A very good find.
