What to Expect

Cabernet Franc, along with Sauvignon Blanc, is a parent of the more famous Cabernet Sauvignon. Quite similar in many ways to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc tends to have higher acid and lighter tannins than its offspring, with fruit in the redder end of the spectrum and a distinctive, aggressive herbal note that can dominate the wine's aromas.

Winemakers Notes

The wonderful warm weather in 2005 helped ripen this Cabernet Franc to offer similar characteristics of beautiful French Cabernet Franc. This wine has almost a meatiness to it with very subtle roasted bell peppers on the nose. Softened tannins help in rounding out this Cabernet Franc leaving a velvety, almost buttery mouth feel.
