Wine Tasting NotesThe Moscato dAsti is a sweet wine, rich in fruit scents, soft and alluring. It is a clear, bright glossy gold yellow color with a ripe fruit and acacia flower bouquet. On the palate, the wine is soft and sweet, but with a definiate strength.

Winemaker's Notes:

This historic family-owned estate is named after its founder Cesare Pio, who established the business in 1881. It is based in Alba in the heart of the Piemonte region, nestled between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. The surrounding hills provide a handful of ideal exposures for grape growing with unique micro-climates. The confluence of cold Alpine air with warm maritime moisture regularly creates a misty glow, or ‘nebbia’, over these foothills, hence Nebbiolo, the great red variety of the region. Grapes are very carefully selected in order to eliminate any polluting elements, such as a rotten or mouldy grape. Soft pressing is to be followed by slow fermentation at low temperature, bottling in the month of March following the autumn vintage. The low alcohol (5.5%) Moscato is a clear, bright glossy gold yellow. The nose is full and elegant, with an exhalting scent of ripe fruit and acacia flowers. It is soft and sweet with definite strength and high class. Serving temperature: 10-11 degrees.
