20 Lawson's Dry Hills Gewürztraminer Marlborough 2008
The nose is classical Gewürztraminer with rose petal, lychee and musk. Behind these aromas you also find passionfruit, lemon, ginger and coriander seed aromas. The immediate impression on the palate is of great concentration and wonderful balance. The mouthfeel is big and soft with sweet fruit expression on the mid-palate,yet the wine finishes just off-dry. The fruit characters on the nose are also found on the palate with citrus, lychee and floral flavours dominating in the young wine. As the wine develops it will become more expressive on the nose and increasingly complex with age.
I have to say I loved it. The slight muscat taste warmed and soothed me.
