Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

I really enjoyed the first taste of this wine - very smooth, pleasant taste, not overpowering in any way. I like the smoothness, but nothing stood out about it. I drank it with a strongly flavored pasta sauce, and I don't think that was an advantageous pairing for this wine. Source: Walmart Price: $8.95 For the price, it's a great bargain. I would drink it on it's own, with cheeses, or a less bold dish.

14 Hands Merlot exhibits classic Washington aromas of blackberries and dark stone fruits. Blackberries are repeated on the palate with notes of cherries and spice. While soft and luxurious in the mouth, this wine has a firm backbone of tannins

Flavor Profile:"14 Hands Merlot begins with distinctive aromas of dark fruits, baking spice and earth which are typical of the variety when grown in Washington. Subtle flavors of boysenberry, pie crust and allspice, surrounding a bright cherry core, are supported by a framework of supple tannins and culminate with a lengthy, lush finish." - Keith Kenison, WinemakerTechnical Data:Blend: 78% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, & 2% other premium red varietiesAppellation: Washington stateAlcohol: 13.5%Total Acidity: 0.52g/100mlpH: 3.67 ** SOLD OUT **

Winemaker's Notes:

Grapes were sourced from vineyards throughout Washington state, including the Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, and Wahluke Slope. The wine was aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels to build structure and soften the blend. All varieties were vinified and aged separately. Blending occurred near bottling to enhance mouth-feel and complexity
