14 Hands Merlot Washington 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Flavor Profile "14 Hands Merlot exhibits classic Washington aromas of blackberries and dark stone fruits. Blackberries are repeated on the palate and joined by touches of cherries and spice. While soft and luxurious in the mouth, this wine has a firm backbone of tannins." -Keith Kenison, Winemaker The Vintage A hot, dry growing season created ideal flavor maturity and promoted an early harvest start. Cool temperatures and intermittent rain in mid-September prompted extended hang time, which allowed the grapes to reach ideal physiologic maturing. 2004 harvest was characterized by smaller berry and cluster size, with intense flavors, good sugar development and high natural acidity.winemaking Winemaking Grapes were mainly sourced from Horse Heaven Hills and the Wahluke Slope. The fruit was gently de-stemmed, crushedand then allowed to soak in its cool juice tomaximize flavor extraction. Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc are blended in to enhance mouth-feel and complexity. Barrel fermented in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels for 12 month. Technical Data Total acidity: 0.57 g/100ml pH: 3.70 Alcohol: 13.5% Blend: 78% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc

Tasted this cab sav at a Bar and Grill in Arlington, Washington for the first time and really enjoyed it! I am hoping to find it to purchase close to home in British Columbia?
