Editorial Reviews

Deep, earthy, brownie, a touch malty with dusty earth and rosebush accents to the liquory, orange oil accented raspberry fruit. There’s even a small floral element at play here. Seamless, a touch soft perhaps but this really has a bit of elegance in the mouth with those same orange oil and floral nuances contributing some depth to the black raspberry fruit in the mouth. Really hold its alcohol well though the finish is a bit short. 89pts

This smells dark, rich and spicy with a smoky, briary top note over the slightly gamy boysenberry fruit. Bright and chewy in the mouth with a slinky, silky feel. Lovely balance and texture to this wine with an earthy core of boysenberry and wild blackberry fruit that leads to a spicy, earthy, slightly licorice tinged finish that features a return of the sweet/sour elements of the fruit with a peppery finale. 92pts

Pungent black pepper and olive aromas. Full bodied, with rough tannins and a spiky, drying mouthfeel. The black pepper nose is my favorite part of this one.

Rich nose of plums and tobacco. Very fruity, with a silky feel. Finishes on licorice and menthol notes. Very rich and robust, a solid meaty zin

Sweet red liquorish and plums on the nose. Big and drying in the mouth, with a candied, slightly lemony finish. Very solid.

The Zinfandel comes from the Price Family Vineyard off Lytton Springs Road and the Kaiser Vineyard on West Dry Creek Road. If this one was a movie the critics would be raving-One sip and you'll be singing it's praises, too.
