Dark red. Cherry, raspberry, licorice, mint and cedary, vanillin oak on the nose; became oakier in the glass. Supple and easygoing, with moderately intense red berry, spice cake and mint flavors. Nicely balanced Merlot, finishing with easy tannins and decent length.

Well-oaked, with cedary vanilla flavors adding dimension to the ripe cherry and currant-scented flavors, finishing with firm tannins. Drink now through 2008. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Quite tannic, but that can't stop the layers of licorice, blackberry, herb and mint that blend nicely through the moderate finish. Needs some time to settle down and soften up; best from 2001 through 2005.

Estate-grown grapes from California's Napa Valley are aged in small oak barrels, resulting in a wine laden with black cherry and currant nuances and hints of tobacco overlaying velvety tannins.

Showing a lot polish and finesse, and although it's not a big wine, it's certainly a rich one. With deliciously ripe cherry, blackberry, chocolate, plum, coffee and spice flavors, it has a voluptuous softness. Should be easy to find with 104,000-case production.
