Wine Tip of The Day

August 16, 2012

Chablis, Burgundy, Port, Champagne, Madeira, Sauterne, Tokay, Sherry, Marsala, and Chianti are all approved semi-generic wine terms in the United States. French, Mosel, Château Margaux, St.-Julien, Spanish, Rioja, Barbaresco, and Oporto are all considered nongeneric and are no longer allowed to be used by American producers. These wines can be made with any varietals, despite the names.
