  • Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia Sauvignon Blanc Toscana Poggio Alla Gazze 2001

Actually cracked this open when I had some Italian food and thought it was good, but not great. I didn't finish it since it was late on a Sunday evening (I simply re-corked for the next night). BUT, boy was this thing was great on Monday afternoon - I guess it needed a bit more breathing than I allowed on Day 1. Read More

  • Francois Baur Cremant d'Alsace 2000

With its lighter nose and flavors, a pleasant level of bubbles and acidity, and lingering finish, this is a good everyday sparkler. Fine for drinking on its own or with a nice cheese. Flavors are slightly autolytic with fruit flavors of grapefruit and pear. Read More

I don't usually get excited over whites, but I was excited about pairing a ... ... ... honey, and guava. This sauvignon blanc was fruity but dry - which nicely enhanced the natural sweetness of our food, shellfish for this evening. A sip of this well-put wine is like taking a bite off a tart green apple. You can definitely also taste grapefru... Read More
