Roussanne

Rousanne

Increasingly popular in the Central Coast of California for blending purposes and as a varietal, Roussanne is a trendy, white Rhône grape. With inconsistent yields, poor resistance to winds, and its susceptibility to powdery mildew and rot, Roussanne had almost disappeared from the northern Rhône until superior clones were developed. Now, it is only one of two vine varieties permitted in the white versions of the northern Rhône’s red wine appellations. In the southern Rhône, it is only one of four grape varieties permitted in white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. • Qupe Bn Hillside Roussanne 2006

    Snoothrank:

Aromas of honeysuckle and lemon oil. Bright, zesty and refreshing and it lingers long and pleasantly. Nice pure fruits and a great intensity. I really enjoyed this and it would pair well with a multitude of foods and is great on its own.- Tasted at Marché Bacchus 2/13/10 Read More

Pretty good for my sum... Read More
