  • Staying in NZ, then, maybe a good NZ pinot noir might be worth putting aside for at least five years? I recently had a bottle of 2007 Two Paddocks 'Picnic' Pinot Noir. Based on how much better the wine was after having been left open overnight, my guess is that it would also age... Read more

  • I would agree with dmcker ... this wine should be fine if stored properly. In fact, I think Panther Creek wines are better a few years after their release so I can't wait to here what you think of this wine when you do open it.

  • Avanti Pinot Noir Venezie IGT 2008

    Snoothrank:

light toasty oak with lots of earth and spice. A thin layer of bacon fat on the mid palate. Not being a Pinot fan I loved it because it reminds of no Pinot I have ever had. Food friendly and can definitely age for at least a year. I had it with sausage and beef ravioli. Amazing QPR.

  • Barton & Guestier Pinot Noir Bistro 2007

    Snoothrank:

Admittedly, the cute label actually set the bar low since I figure often the ... first, it didn't seem like a pinot noir, but like a lot of cheap pinots, off balance with sharp astringency vs. sugariness. Some air after sitting in the glass for an hour mellowed it, but nothing... Read more

  • There's an argentinean wine called Oroya, developed specially to go with sushi ... and floral white grape) and Pinot Noir. They make an interesting blend of a blanc de blanc and a blanc de noir. The first grape's fruityness and the firmness of the P.Noir give it a good equilibrium... Read more

  • Woodbridge By Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir Vin de Pays de l'Herault 2007

    Snoothrank:

Had a bottle of this recently at a Chicago restaurant. Not my choice. The ... alcohol level. Why buy a pinot noir [or any other grape] produced in France and bottled in California when there is plenty of California-produced pinot noir

  • Despite registering a UK address, the recommendations are overwhelmingly US-based, which is not a lot of use.
