“With so voluptuous a perfume, so sweet an edge, they make the blood run hot,” Joel Fleischman, wine columnist at Vanity Fair, once described of Pinot Noir. Also christening it as a fickle mistress, a minx, and as sex in a glass, wine critics have had no hesitation in oft comparing Pinot Noir to a woman.

  • Thanks RC.  We're still recovering from all that wine.  The food ... from Delaware really love Pinot Noir from California.  We did like them but I would not buy that much of any varietal. &nbs Read More

  • Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rose Pfalz 2016

    Snoothrank:

Light watermelon and raspberry aromas are restrained and pleasant. This has a touch of effervescence on the palate, bold cranberry and cherry fruit and a sharp finish of minerality and depth. Refreshing. Read More

  • Sandra and I were invited to attend a special wine tasting event in Washington ... ... with an emphasis on Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals.  It wasn't cheap mind you as you could select as much as you wished to consume.  There were horderves and water available too, in case you drank too much.  We elected to have a small bite to e... • Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Noir Whole Cluster 2015

    Snoothrank:

well, it's an excellent wine of cause but what surprised me the most - is a light aroma of cotton and wildflowers and that you can catch for a first few seconds! Then it vanishes leaving nice dried dark berries nose. Taste is juicy, silky, minty, fresh berries and dried fruit. leaves a "90% chocolate" bar on a tongue. Read More

  • Sonoma Collection Pinot Noir Sonoma District 3 2014

    Snoothrank:

I have a split opinion about this wine. First of all, as a $15-17 Sonoma coast pinot noir, it's somewhat disappointing, and not particularly true to type, and on that basis, I would give it only 3 glasses at most. However, that being said, it's currently selling at Grocery Outlet for $5 a bottle, and it's certainly an interesting and more th... Read More
