  • Ceritas Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Escarpa Vineyard 2012

    Snoothrank:

Light-coloredprune--in the glass. Cherry and some astringency on the nose. Certainly a light-bodied red wine. Cherry and cola suggestions. Nice acid tartness. As I have commented before, this is not a powerhouse wine. Its certainly easy to drink, and I do like it for that, but, frankly, to me, it lacks the complexity that I would like to s... Read More

    Snoothrank:

This bottle was part of a lot I bought on the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/106044. Savigny-les-Beaune is an appellation created in 1937 [although there has been viticulture here since at least the Romans ] for both red and white wines [although over 80% are red ] from the commune of that name on the Cotes de Beaune in Burgundy. The nose was the star with earthy red cherry, some roasted meat and a citrusy orange zest. It had a gamey edge that wasn't bretty gamey just hard to pin down. Medium minus bodied, showin...
