  Periquita Tinto Vinho Terras Do Sado Tinto NV

  Snoothrank:

  The color is a deep ruby and the bouquet is of red berries, chocolate and nuances of green tea. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, fruity, with soft tannins, and is well balanced with a long, smooth finish. Good and affordable wine.

  Nose had a little fertilizer/poopy going on. There was something about the taste that seemed off, but for $7.99 it wasn't such a bad wine. 84/100

Tears are medium thickness and not quite close to each other, though they form fast. Smell: Animal, leather. Blueberries. Oak. Hint of chocolate. Taste: A little astringent, a little acidity. You can taste the blueberries. It lingers a little and the oak shows at the end. Overall: It is a young wine, though the varietals used (Castelão, Trincadero and Aragonez aka Tempranillo) allows it to age a little. Maturity should be reached in about 3 to 5 years and should stay there a few more.    (hide)
