Name of varietal: Palomino

Common synonyms: Listan (France), Fransdurif (South Africa), Perrum (Portugal)

Parentage of the grape: native to southern Spain (Andalusia)

History of the grape: Palomino is split into three types: Palomino Fino, Palomino de Jerez and Palomino Basto. All of them are indigenous to Spain, with Palomino Fino one of the most widely planted white grapes in Spain. Palomino on Snooth

  • Rapitala Piano Maltese Bianco Sicilia IGT 2010

A melange of tropical fruit on the nose: bananas, papaya and hints of mango. A bit musty and very soft on entry with an increasing acidity, but has a smooth and succinct finish. Read More

I am partial to complex reds that explode with the taste and aroma of cherries, spices, vanilla, and licorice and this wine fits the bill nicely. It's delicious and smooth with long complex aftertaste th... Read More
