Muscat on Snooth

  • Willow Crest Muscat Canelli Yakima Valley 2012

Showing floral and fruit on the nose with juicy bright peach, candied apple and honey aromas. This is still brightly acidic, though expect newer vintages to have more buoyancy. Still this is effervescent and off-dry today, with notes of fresh red apple, peach and dried apricot, and a touch of phenolics towards the finish. Read More

  • Handley Cellars Pinot Blanc Mendocino 2012

Very enjoyable pinot blanc from Mendocino. There's a bit of a creamy taste and texture that makes this stand out from most other pinot blancs that I've had. Plenty of lemon pith, a bit of white grapefruit, with a hint of honeysuckle. There's a nice bit of medium acidity and a medium finish. Read More

  • Caposaldo Moscato Provincia di Pavia IGT NV

Did a quick do it yourself wine flight tasting at my favorite bar...not known for its wines. Served much too warm. Loads of mixed fruit and far too sweet to have on its own without food. Bottle may have been flawed for there was a bitter and metallic aftertaste. Read More

  • Rosenblum Pink Moscato 2011

One characteristic that was expected and favourable, is "sweet" on the first bite. This promising start however turns to dry and oaky rather quickly. The second sip was searching for that sweet, which was refound, but lost again amounst the dry wood. Ah well, not my cup of, but if you're looking for dynamics with a chew of dry... Read More
