  • Now that the name Sauterne, is reserved for those wines from that region, how do I find the type of wine produced in the 1960's, that used to be labeled " Sauterne".This wine was from California and was an excellent compliment to poultry. I have no idea what wines to try. Thanks Read More

  • Been on a bit of a syrah kick recently myself but tonight we had our weekly farmer's market delivery and cooked a (semi) vegetarian dinner of spaghetti squash, tomatoes, onions, feta, basil (and added some crumbled bacon, not in the original recipe so don't tell on me).Opened this interesting white blend of Semillon, Sauv Blanc and Orange Muscat... • August is here -- along with warm, steamy weather for most of the country. For some that means switching over to chilled cocktails or beer. Snoothrank:

Effervescent mouthfeel is extremely fruity with notes of peach and apricot, honey and oranges. In the mouth this is delicate and honeyed with lots of ripe red apples, pear and floral notes of orange blossom and a slight touch of tart lemon on the finish. Read More

  • Interestingly, found a Montebello edged out a Dunn from the same mature vintage recently, though both could've been WOTN, with very tough competition from the Musigny. Two meals, one seafood and white, the 2nd red meat and red wine. Every single bottle gets my *buy* recommendation. Interestingly, was down in the tropics just north of the equator... Read More

  • Yeah, it's back! Thanks Mark A. for the fix, sorry I broke Snooth.DM, next after the rieslings it was pretty much a tie between the spicy, aromatic gewurtraminers and the dry but fruit forward pinot gris'. The sylvaner and pinot blanc were very good as well, just not nearly as complex. On the other hand we also had some really good muscat, every... Read More
