Moscato Giallo on Snooth

  • Like many foodies, I adore oysters on the half shell. One of my first jobs ... this region include Kerner , Moscato Giallo and Pinot Grigio. From further south in Italy, I’d pair Vermentino any day as well as Fiano, Greco di Tufo from Sicily Regaleali and most anything well made with Caricante grapes from Etna.Beyond Italy, here are some French... Interesting muscat from Italy. Tastes like a slightly sweet sauv blanc or maybe a dry to sweet riesling with a touch of grapefruit. Nicely balanced between the citrus, the (very) slight sweetness, refreshing acidity and hint of ripe pear. Great to go with something spicy off the grill on the deck this summer. Read More

Nice floral, fennel pollen and lightly red fruited nose with honey comb top notes. This really does have a remarkably floral and rd fruited aromatic profile. On entry this has a nice texture, a bit slick, smooth in the mouth with a very fine polyphenolic bitterness up front and then nice quince fruit with hints of melon, nice sweet almond notes ... Big bubble gum candy nose, grapy, floral intense if a bit candied, fine mouse, creamy, candied grapey flavors, grape bubble yum flavors, not too sweet, this almost has some bitterness helping to balance out the sugar, decent acidity, big plummy and wild grape flavors on the backend leave the finish with a bit of a sweet/bitter grape skin quality...
