Parentage of the grape: Unknown

History of the grape: Marsanne is native to the northern Rhone valley in France. There, it was the traditional blending partner of Roussanne, but has slowly been taking over because of its greater reliability. It is becoming the primary variety in appellations such as St-Joseph, St-Peray, and Crozes-Hermitage. The role of Roussanne had been to bring acidity to the blend, since Marsanne can be flabby, but when grown in the right place, picked at the right time, and not overcropped, Marsanne can produce balanced wines. • OK, tasted my first Viognier and was sort of miffed, a bit confused and finally I think I like it.I've been testing my taster and found out that I believe it is one step short of Excellent. I tasted minerals, pineapple and a citrus flavor.  The flavors were long lasting and I've become semi-hooked on a white wine, I would purchase another.  Any ... Read More

A light wine which still manages to drip with the taste of honey and pineapple. Even so, this outstanding effort is not to sweet and nicely balanced with just the right acidic addition. For those who like a white Rhone-style wine this is a very good one. 93. Read More

Because it was served extremely chilled, I couldn't smell much in the bouquet and couldn't taste much beyond the grape-y sweetness (very much like white grape juice coc... Read More

Amazing nose initially with the promise of much more to come. Rich, leathery and earthy. However, its not one to open and leave for a few hours as it drops off quickly.Lovely, but pop the cork and go or it. Read More
