Malbec

Name of varietal: Malbec

Common synonyms: Côt, Auxerrois, Pressac, Vesparo, Malbeck

Parentage of the grape: indigenous to France

History of the grape: Some believe Malbec is named after a Hungarian peasant who spread plantings along the French countryside (Janos Malbec-seed, perhaps?). • Trapiche Broquel Malbec Argentine Penaflor/Trapiche 2006

    Snoothrank:

This is a very good example of what a malbec can be. If you like malbecs you will like this wine. It is more refined than many other malbecs in this price range and the tannins have been well rounded by the hot Argentina summer. This wine is a very dark purple hue with, spicy notes and a nice finish. Read More
