Grenache

(aka. Grenache Noir, Garnacha, Cannonau, Lladoner, Tinto Aragones, Alicante)

Significant acreage of this grape is found in Santa Barbara and Monterey counties. Grenache’s ability to produce in warm climates has made it a workhorse varietal not only in California, but also in the warmth of South Australia and South Africa. Grenache-based wines tend to be high in alcohol, with attractive fruit qualities in youth. • Razor's Edge Shiraz Blend Mclaren Vale Shiraz-Grenache 2006

    Snoothrank:

Not as powerful as most shiraz's, which was probably balanced by the grenache. Full mouth feel, but not the lingering pepper that was expected. Would buy again for the price. Good to drink without food. Read More

Young and intense on the nose, it is a complex mix of almond, caramelised sugar and there is a good presence of the alcohol. (14%) 25% of the wine is fermented in oak barrel, which gives a lively and complex pal... Read More

  • Château Moyau Rosé Blend Coteaux du Languedoc la Clape 2007

Nice deep bronzed cherry hue. Sweet Maraschino cherry flavors with some watermelon flavors on the backend. This is a classic rose that finishes on melon and strawberry flavors. Would work well with quiche, or moules frites on a hot summers day Read More

  • Hello!I am planning a weekend trip to Paso Robles, and am looking for some advice on wineries to visit whilst I am there. As a bit of background, my girlfriend and I are big red lovers. Cab Sauv, Shiraz, Syrah, Zin, and Petite Syrah find their way onto the dinner table most of the time. We're not really into what I will term as 'introductory'... Read More
