Gewürztraminer on Snooth

  • Mt. Hope Estate & Winery Gewurztraminer NV

An anomaly, a wine that taste like beer! No fizz, but a hefty wheat-like embodiment that looks like white wine. Puzzling at first, but better than any light ale or IPA. I had no problems reaching for another sip. Powerful though, watch your glass. A good bottle to have in your rotation to break the hum drum of old favourites. Read More

Honeysuckle and wildflower aromas, aromatic and clean with sweet white peach and citrus notes. Juicy pear, apple and lemon fruit flavors with more than a hint of sweet spice, more perfumed wildflower and zesty acidity towards the finish. Read More

This is from one of the islands in my (mostly) British Columbia life that I ... I find the nose to have some Gewurztraminer and peach - as perhaps expected. The entry is light with musky, Muscat-like favours - very inviting - especially with shellfish. The finish is off-dry, but clean and the wine is obviously well made. 8 Read More

  • Looking for something special? There is an estate winery on Oliver, BC, called Silver Sage, that has what they call "The Flame". It's an apricot/peach Gewurtz with a VERY hot pepper in it. The first sip is sweet followed by hot. The longer the pepper is in it, the hotter it gets. Or take it out and it doesn't get hotter. Lasts up to a year in th...
