  • Helfrich Alsace Grand Cru Gewurztraminer 2012

Quite floral honeysuckle and honey aromas with fresh violets, pear, and rose petals. Flavors are quite intensely floral as well, with lavender essence, honey, lemonade, green apples. Finishes long and perfumed. Read More

  • Box wine, depending on who you ask, is either the future of wine or the ugly ... blend of Gruner Veltliner, Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Malvasia Bianca, Sauvignon Blanc,  and more -- which is a sure conversation starter in and of itself. Retailing for around $17 and clocking in at 13.5% alcohol, don't let the whimsical packaging lure you into th... Read More

  • Cardinal Point Vineyard and Winery Quattro 2013

One of the few wineries in the region using the real German varietals - not just sturdier hybrids - this blend lets their natural sweetness shine. Subtle and honeyed, but still fairly simple. It's their crowd pleaser. Read More

  • Summerhill Pyramid Winery Organic Gewurztraminer 2013

This off-dry (German-style) Gewurztraminer has an enticing straw colour topped by a brilliantly pure candied lychee nut scent - almost to the exclusion of all else. The palate gets more canned peach and a hint of ginger spice. A decent aperitif or accompaniment for sushi (sans wasabi). 86 points. A little dull compared to last year. Read More
