Gewürztraminer’s direct and obvious charm has made it a popular varietal in almost every corner of the wine world. Although its origins are Italian, it is the ‘red’-skinned form of Traminer, known to the world as Gewürztraminer that have placed it on the world stage. • Hi Miguel,Both of Gewurztraminer and Riesling grape varietals originated from Germany but they are slightly  different in aromatics and flavor profile. As EMARK said, "Gewurztraminer has a spicy characteristic". Dry Riesling is also acceptable though it is less fruity but everything is in the acidity, texture and intensity. You'd better try both... • Navarro Vineyards White Blend Mendocino County Edelzwicker 2013

Nice and inexpensive Mendocino white blend of Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Muscat. There's not as much aromatics, as I'd expect for this blend. From the glass there is some nice notes of tangerine, ripe peach, a nice creamy texture, medium acidity and a medium finish. Very good QPR. Read More

While many people think “sweet” when they hear “Riesling”, that is the German interpretation of the variety—in Alsace, Rieslings are always bone dry. 2014 Anaba Riesling Sonoma Va... Read More
