  • That's a South Indian version of the Chana dhal (chickpeas) Saag (spinach) ... a just-off-dry riesling or gewurztraminer with it and let us know what you think. The south Indian comes from the coconut milk/cream and even the cilantro (which is heading over towards Burma and Thailand), where a northern Indian or Nepali version wouldn't have that... One ambitious member of the group even shelled out $550 for a bottle of Unico. Probably not the best time of night for that bottle... Again, not sure I want to make a BBQ-turke... Read More

  • Sineann Celilo Vineyard Gewurztraminer 2013

    Snoothrank:

Perfectly fine Gewurtz from Sineann in Newberg OR. Very floral nose with some more on the palate along with dried apricot, orange marmalade and just a hint of clove. The acidity is nice but not mouth puckering and the finish is fairly long, similar to a dessert wine. Read More

  • Imagery Estate Winery Viognier Russian River Valley 2013

    Snoothrank:

Clear, very pale yellow in the glassvery close to white. Very floral, perfumey ... that I would associate with Gewurztraminer. Sure enough, lots of white stone fruit flavor on the tip of the tongue that morphs into a melon suggestion at the back. Also, a bit of spritz on the tip of the tongue. Good acid backbone gives this wine a refreshing... Read More
