Cabernet Sauvignon on Snooth
We'd love to review some wines from Long Island or the Hudson Valley, we're ... Not as forcefull as a Cali Cabernet Sauvignon, a good east coast Cabernet Franc really gives you that snowy weather, sitting in your library...
Interesting news article I just read about a crime in Hong Kong. Seems some burglars made off with a little more than 200 bottles of '82 Lafite Rothschild worth nearly US$900,000. A change from the jewelry stores that...
Deep rich concentrated layers and nose of dark brambly berries, reminiscent of a super tuscan or bordeaux. Very nice bottle of wine. Well balanced and very tasty! Indeed a fantastic buy for the price at Trader Joes!
We took our honeymoon (bike trip) through the Finger Lakes, and have had a ... of the lake.) Think Volnay. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot generally don't ripen and are best avoided. Surprisingly, Chardonnay does not do...
I found this at Safeway for $1.99 on sale and frankly it is actually pretty good for that price.
Fragrant, oak, dry finish.
I followed the post for "How long does it take you to finish a bottle of wine?" ... simple bottle of say, a $15 Cabernet Sauvignon...if I just re-cork it (no inert gas or pump vacuum) after pouring and store it in the...
Thanks to every one who's welcomed me, lil' drinker, to this group. Dmcker, ... and Palatine Hills' 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Icewine. I took home 4 bottles on this trip, all from Palatine. I've been there before but this...
Just wanted to update you all on some interesting things to report about the 74 vintage wines. I will be posting my reviews on several in the coming days. The Sterling Cab was fantastic. All that I could have ever hoped...
Big and Bold!

Im looking for an Cabernet Sauvignon without added Sulfates...
Philip wrote a new description for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Is there someone who can write a description for this varietal similar to the one for Pinot Noir? I loved reading that one, and would love to read about many different grapes. Please point me in the write direction if I am looking in the wrong place.

A very leathery, grapey nose with some notes of cough syrup. Its a more restrained wine than I'm used to from Chile, there's a lot of fruit on the finish, but it's slow to start. Still very young and tight, with a green medicinal finish. Needs time"
I'd not had a cab from this area of Chile, although I've had plenty from Chile in general. Way too young to form the best impression, there was a lot of tight tannins, but it's quite an over ripe wine too - the licorice and cough syrup came through. We'll see if anyone had a better experience.
From Mike Pobega:
Greetings! Lets have some fun. I propose that the weekend of March 6th, 7th, and 8th be our first Virtual Tasting Weekend, themed 'The Cabernets of Chile'.
The plan is simple: just choose a cabernet from the chosen region, open it & note on it here at Snooth and we can discusss it beyond that.
Lets start with Cabernets of Chile, a region I am not as familiar with myself.
We will go around the world from here.....
