Cabernet Franc on Snooth

  • Azienda Agricola Eugenio Rosi Cabernet Franc 2007

    Snoothrank:

Organically farmed and bottled unsulfured from old vines that lie within the city limits of Rovereto in an old vineyard of pure sand. The nose here is explosive with big balsamic and incense notes popping from the glass then fine rich notes of smoked paprika, drying chilies, and mica rich earth slowly revealing themselves. Medium bodied and very... Read More

  • Cameron Hughes Lot 99 2004

    Snoothrank:

Light dusty nose. Violets. Light, even for a cab franc, but beautifully aged. Drying tannins on the finish. Very nice, well balanced, and the best Cameron Hughes wine I've ever tried (and ive had 10+) Read More

  • Roanoke Vineyards Red Table Wine Blend One 2005

    Snoothrank:

Way different than the 2003 - primarily because this one is 50% malbec (the 03 has 0% malbec). Much fruitier, new world style - warmer, richer. Yet still retains the refreshing quality the other one did (good acidity causes this). Very mineral as well - eucalyptus as well. Rich plums and black cherries dominate throughout. Read More

  • Roanoke Vineyards Red Table Wine Blend One 2003

    Snoothrank:

Really meaty, gamey nose. Good black cherry notes with prunes and firm tannins. This wine can age some more. Mineral finish. Good acidity, which keeps it 'light' on the finish. Read More

  • Roanoke Vineyards de Rosa Rosé 2007

    Snoothrank:

Off dry, just 0.5% residual sugar. The blend has chardonnay interestingly! Peach nose, barely sweet, well balanced. Good acidity with a melon and raspberry finish. Read More
