Cabernet Franc on Snooth

  • Blackwood Lane Cabernet Franc 2010

    Snoothrank:

There's nothing like a beautiful summer day in the Fraser Valley (did I mention ... better with Blackwood Lane Cabernet Franc. The 2010 is deep cherry red in colour and redolent of crushed blackberry, menthol and a hint of cardamom. Entry is very pleasing - with a creamy blackberry-cherry core and a touch of spice. Good finesse, balance and ... Read More

I went for the 2010 although the 2012 was a great vintage. (I may go back and buy a 2012 and do a side-b... Read More

  • D'Angelo Estate Winery Merlot Cabernet Franc 2009

    Snoothrank:

I have not tasted this producer before - although I was aware of the family operation in Essex County Ontario. This wine, however, comes from an estate at Penticton BC. The colour is dark and rich followed by an enticing aroma of stewed red fruit such as cherry (dominant) mixed with berries of the vaccinium family. On the palate, there is goo... Read More
