  • Il Bastardo Sangiovese Toscana IGT 2011

Il Bastardo which I am not but I must review this wine. The label says rich, fat and luscious and I agree. It has a pungent earthy cassis aroma which fills the nostrils with ample taste promises. Upon taste it is lush, grape with balanced tannins. It's crisp, grapey thorough to the palate. Coats the mouth with nice flavor and a lasting finish. Read More

We'll turn to my dinner in a moment, but for the wine tonight I picked out one ... time favorites, the 2009 Il Bastardo Rosso di Toscana, a lighter red wine from Tuscany which would pair very well with my dinner. Plus it has to have one of my favorite labels of all time, Il Bastardo himself, relaxing with a glass of his wine, oh how I can ide... Read More

First of all, this is a full 750 ml bottle, not a half bottle. As someone whos not a huge port fan, my first reaction was its not bad. But after a few more sips, it really grew on me. My cousin, whos an avid port fan, took a taste and said ooh, thats really good. I havent been back to GO since the wine sale, so I dont know if theres any left, bu... Read More
