  • Fontanafredda Barbera Piemonte DOC Briccotondo 2007

What a terrific little Barbera this is! Perfect wine for any Italian food, especially pizza, or Bolognese. Medium-bodied, plum and cherry/sour cherry nose. Blooms well (opens) in the glass, the first glass is good, the last glass is terrific. The last two years garnered 90 points and in '06 it was on the Wine Specatator Top 100 Wines of the Yea... Nice overall medium bodied wine. The cherry is constantly evolving and hints of herbs. Went great with more intense flavored chinese food. Not sure I would enjoy this wine by itself, works very well with food. Read More

  • Hey Mambo Sultry Red 2006

It is a blend of a crap load of grapes (barbera, zinfandel, syrah, petite sirah, carigname, & alicante bouchet). It's spicy, just like something called "Hey Mambo" should be. Plenty of pepper and a smooth finish. Read More
