Some of you may already know this ... but I thought I would share. WinesTilSoldOut is having a crazy sale today. Here is part of the email I got:

Cheapskate Wednesday is taking place now. This one day marathon event will run until 12:00 AM eastern Thursday. We will be featuring 75 wines throughout the night and day, all at drastically reduced prices.

Wines offered will be between $7.99 and $17.99 per bottle, with a minimum quantity of four bottles for free shipping. Orders CANNOT be combined for free shipping. We will be offering many past favorites, as well as some new selections you will be sure to love.

This is the only email that you will receive for this event. You do not have to wait for the e mail to sign on. Each wine will remain on the site till sold out, or be replaced every 30 minutes throughout the night, and fifteen minutes starting at 8 AM.

Haven't seen anything I would like yet ... but I'm sure I've missed a ton of wines.

wow, very strange concept - we're supposed to sit and watch it all day? The only wine i saw was $1 more than in my local store - and that was after their sale price was reflected. It did involve free shipping, so that was nice

Yeah, it is kinda crazy ... still haven't seen anything I like.

I would like to see a list of what I missed.

They are having another clearance sale today.

Yeah but even at their "clearance" prices things look too expensive!

I'll take another look later but $100 bottles are not high on too many folks lists today.

It keeps changing every 10 minutes and I've seen some deals as low as $20 but I'm hoping to see if they have La Grande Dame on. I'll buy a couple of those! ;-) Actually Bollinger Grand Annee would be nice too!

I've been there 5 times today. No Bolly!

In fact nothing of particular interest but the variety is nice.

*Geek Alert*

It'd be nice if they used an AJAX interface and actually pushed the new updates to the user rather than waiting for a user to refresh. They'd get more sales that way in my opinion.

*End Geek Alert*

Reply by gbostrom, Sep 3, 2010. is another daily wine deal site I regularly check if you like WTSO.

I bought some CdP from WTSO, but I am generally not crazy about the model.  Lower priced wines are a 4-bottle commitment, usually for something I have not tried before, and the higher priced wines are often good wines from questionable vintages, the kinds of things that are often available on sale anyway. I bought Burgess locally for MUCH less than the WTSO price.  I get the daily (sometimes a few times daily) emails, and I will check CellarThief because there's no harm.
