So I am a huge value investor -- of course, this isn't a site that Warren Buffet visits (or at least not yet) -- but I was wondering if anyone had opinions on what emerging wines are coming out of new regions. This summer I fell in love with some good Pinot Grigios from New Zealand, where I think you can get a good deal for <$20 (I recommend Pegasus). I also was fortunate enough to spend some time in Argentina and think Alamos wines (Mendoza), which are widely distributed, are great quality for the price. I was however, VERY disappointed in wine from Bolivia, even the highest end wines were flat and lacked any real body. Wonder why with all the dry , arid land they aren't able to come up with anything spicey like a Malbec or Zin (although, maybe I dont know what I am talking about...). Nonetheless, if anyone has some new regions that are priced below value, please share!

Hey there ... awhile ago I posted a blog on every day wines ... my limit was <$25 but I hope it gives you some ideas.

I don't know about everyone else but I feel just a little weird pointing people to things I wrote. It feels a little pompeus.

Bolivia! Thats pretty funny - I used to be a volunteer teacher there, and remember trying some local wines. They arent as bad as wines from the Philippines, but yeah, they are pretty crappy.

One general site tip I have regarding value wines is that when you do a search the default sort order is by highest rank, however you can change that (on the right hand side) to sort by Quality / Price ratio - thats the easiest way to see whats "trading cheap"!
