Wine Rack, some wines are not in the database and how to delete wines?

Posted by shsim, Feb 15, 2012.

Hello all!

I just started out and have been adding wines to my wine rack but realised there are a number that are not there. I added a few by mistake and I dont know how to edit them on the rack. I just report a listing that is a double of the one I made so I dont know if that helps. When the wine is not there, do I just add it? Shouldnt that be looked at by someone so that everything is consistent? And alot of them have no pictures and I added pictures for the wines I had, is that ok?

cheerios

Hey Shi, If you go to the wine detail page (the popup bubble on wine-rack links to this), there's a checkbox on the right that says "Save in My Wines".   If you uncheck this, it will remove it from your collection.

Thanks for the note about the photos, we'll take a look at this

Good to hear @shsim.  I believe the photos issue has to do with migrating photos of de-duplicated wines, which should catch up eventually.  I have a plan to improve that aspect of the system at some point.  I'll also make a note to make it easier to remove those wines through the Wine Rack.

Cool! Thanks Chris! There are also alot of duplications of the same wine... It is difficult to know which one is the actual one...

Hey Chris,

I just found some weird earrings and pin listing for wines when I searched for pearl grape. Thought you guys might want to know to take those listings down...

Thank you and keep up the great work! :D

Yes, the duplicate entries are always puzzling. It's been like that for years, but apparently change for the better is underway, though a little slower than we'd all like.
