I had a grand old time drinking this one, really great balance, not all that complex, but delicious "spot-hittin" good.

This was a big Cali wine, so I am buzzed now. Whatever Philip tells you about the size of my glass, it was only partially full. Fifth bottle at most!

I am definitely in the wrong profession! I can't even mention wine, unless I am going to say how bad it is for you, nevertheless drink some. Where did I go wrong? :(

Well, don't have the same Friday tradition as the guys at Snooth but I hosted my wine groups tasting tonight. It was a Bordeaux event and the only wine I can really remember is the Sauterne that we finished up with but the 2005 Margaux was pretty special too. :-)

John - sounds very nice. I'm off to sneak a peak at your reviews if/when you've recovered enough to write them!

Wine Friday time: http://www.snooth.com/wine/veramont...

Todays choice, by Mark, was a particularly ammonia ridden Chilean Sauv Blanc. The others seemed to like it more than me, though

Today's bottle is a lovely Blaufränkisch with a good price tag. I had a different vintage of this wine before and remember enjoying it more but still it's pleasant enough.

I was in Vegas, does "Vodka Friday" count?

I think anything in Vegas counts!

Only in Vegas though...
Last Friday, I had a wine and cheese at home for some of my girl friends. I had two bottles of white wine, which I forgot to chill before their arrival so, I popped them in the freezer. A couple of red wine bottles later, I realized, i left the white bottles in there. The wine had chilled too long and one of the corks slide out of the bottle. I caught it just in time before it would have spilled into a big mess in my freezer. Note: when you leave white wine to chill in the freezer, leave a note to yourself to take them out before you start drinking your red bottles.

OK - what are people thinking about drinking? Its wine friday here at Snooth, so we need to rummage around the wine rack and choose something tasty...

Any ideas?

You've done red, a little white...maybe it's time for a rose? Or be like us, we have 7 bottles open, enjoy a variety!

I'm thinking a riesling or a pinot gris.

Eroica Riesling (Chateau St. Michelle - Washington)
J Pinot Gris (Russian River Valley)

Today's wine is a Bordeaux that I opened at home and brought to the office. I wasn't nuts about it, but it had some upshots.
