For today's Wine Friday we sampled a 2003 Pietra Santa Cabernet Sauvignon . According to the winemaker, "This wine has rich flavors of black cherry and blackberry with undertones of dark chocolate and cedar. The wine has a silky texture and soft tannins." According to us, it was pretty delicious. Check out the link to read more.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Just curious ... what criteria do you guys use to determine what to drink on 'Wine Friday'? Is there an upper price limit? Some other decision mechanism?

No criterea. I am the mechanism! It's my choice. Second bottles of submitted samples, something I brought in. Something kicking around. I have heard that since I started our friday wines have gotten a bit better.
Last week we had the 96 olga raffault and lot 99 cameron hughes cab francs.
The week before was 2000 vina Bosconia from Lopez de Heredia
before that was the 1971 Spatlese and 1989 Rocche dei Manzoni Barolo
then there was that bottle of 2000 Pegau
That's as far back as I can recall. No theme, or rhyme or reason. Just pure bottled friday fun!
